August!!

I forgot to post this in July,
when Raelee was 2 wks old....
Here are both my girls at 2 weeks.
Raelee is with the PURPLE
and
Madison is with the RED

August was a busy,
yet fun month for us!

My brother and SIL visited the first week,
we had a few friends move in too.

We took Madi and Raelee swimming
over at Adam and Randi's place...
ok, so Raelee didn't really go swimming
cause the water was too cold for her,
but it was fun getting her
in her swimming suit
and watching Madi and Trev swim!

This is Shawnee Lake,
it's right by our house and we LOVE this place!!
The water is like bath water -
just my temperature for swimming!

Raelee was 4 weeks when we
brought her for the first time.
She totally loved basking
in the sun!!

Madison loves being more
independent and floating by herself.
She also built some really sweet castles!

Trevor started his first year of Law School!!
Hip-hip-horray!
May the count down begin :)
I made him take a picture,
just as if he was in elementary school, haha!

Here is Madi waving good-bye
and blowing kisses.
Notice the tiny blue piece of metal in
our garage??
Yup, we paid a whoppin' 600
buckaroonies on the
'blue streak'
It's actually in perfect condition
and gets Trevor to and from
school a lot quicker than the local bus.
Plus we are saving major bucks
on gas, cause it is pretty much
as small as a smart car!
haha

We may have some curly hair on our sweet Raelee!
I'm not betting that it will stay,
but my fingers and crossed!

Madison has discovered
the wonderful world of imagination!
This is her driving us to Dillon's,
the grocery store we usually go to.
She sat down in her banana chair and asked
me where I wanted to go.
I told her we needed some milk!!
She smiled and took out my old corolla key,
stuck it in her 'knee pit'
and said vrooooom....
pausing to say,
"wait, I forgot my glasses!"
she ran to her bedroom and came
back with these red beauties!
walked over to me and made a click sound
with her tongue while motioning
strapping on a seat belt.
And the darling that she is,
added another click
for Raelee so she was safe too:)
She went back to her chair and stated,
"I gotta put on my seat belt too,
so the coppers don't take me away!"

I'm glad she catches on quick!

We ventured out for some walks,
during the afternoon hours even!
The weather here has actually
cooled down and is so
wonderful!
The last few morning I've actually
gotten cold!!
It's been in the mid 80's -
I love it!

Madi likes to walk her baby too!

Raelee sleeps just like her momma.
Only the best position in the world!

and then we have wonderful Madi,
who never sleeps in the same position twice:)

HAHA
part of our basement isn't finished...
this is where Trevor hides to do homework
when he isn't at the library!
We sure do LOVE our daddy for working
super hard!!
( 2 saturdays ago he studied for 7.5 hrs )
Luckily it isn't like the every weekend....so far!

Raelee turned 1 month in August!
She weighed in at 9 lbs 13 oz!!
She is still super healthy.
She actually rolled over for the first time
at the dr's office!
The dr was so excited, he kept trying
to get her to do it again.
She smiles and talks all the time now,
most of her smiles come out
when Madi is talking and playing with her.
Its so much fun to see them interact!

Here is Raelee at 1 month,
I feel horrible because I can't
find Madison's 1 month picture on her blanket.

One night we went over to Trevor's school
to the coy pond.
Madi loved feeding the fish and hunting
for the frogs!

One day this past month
Madison decided she wanted a cape.
How she figured out what one was
is beyond me.
She kept saying she needed a cape
so she could be super Madi!
So I dug through my scraps and
came up with this!
Pretty sweet for a 5 min project,
plus it made her day!

I had deja vu when I saw Madison like this.
I hurried and snapped a picture.
This is exactly how I remember
my niece Maranda,
only instead of playing with her belly button,
it was her earlobe!
slurping down juice with those
big blue eyes peeking over the top!

My girls LOVE each other.
I'm not just saying that
because I am their mother...
they honestly do.
Raelee will watch Madi's every move!
She is quiet and listens when Madison
reads and tells her 'spooky stories'!
Madi tells me all the time
"my sissy poo is my best friend"
I sure hope it stays that way!

Out here there is a group called JRC
Its a group of lots of the Law students and their families.
We all get together for fun activites.
During the week all the wives
and kids get together and do fun activities.
Most of them are LDS
It's great to have a group that supports
one another and is a family away from family!

These pictures are from
Old prairie town.
It was so hot that we stayed most the time
in the ice cream parlor and chatted!
Randi and I ran out
for a few minutes to tour the place.

These huge flowers totally reminded me of Hawaii!!

We have had a lot of swimming days
this summer!
The pool was the only place to stay cool
when outside!

"mommy, I promise I'm not tired. I don't
want a nap!!"
HAHA, ya right my dear daughter....

Daddy taught Madison to play frisbee
at the park!
She actually did pretty good.

We had yet another wonderful
wind/lightening storm one night.
Our power was out for 22 hours.
As I laid in bed watching the lightening
flash through my window every three seconds
at 2 in the morning, I seriously thought
my house was going to lose its roof.
The wind was so horrible,
I'm surprised the tornado siren didn't sound!
So many trees had fallen over,
they were EVERYWHERE
as we drove around later that next day!

Who said being a mom of two was hard??

Madi and I did our regular morning routine,
ate breakfast and got her ready for the day
and I hopped in the shower while Madi
'babysat' (listened for her to wake up)
Raelee.
After I finished I came out to see this.....
I swear this girl could read all day if I let her.

Good Morning Madison!!
Madi totally slept in one day,
Raelee and I went in to wake her up...
notice her 'night gown'!
Trev thinks its fun to put her in his old
cut off shirts - and of course Madi
thinks its the coolest thing ever.

Making pretzels for FHE one night!

Skyping 'Granny tanny'
as Madi would put it!

When Raelee wakes up in the morning
Madison has to entertain herself
while Raelee has her breakfast.
Madison's latest thing,
besides bringing in all her books to read to us,
is finding her stool
and flipping on and off the lights!

Please take note that in the first
picture she couldn't find her stool,
so she used her coloring book.
Darn, not tall enough!!

Finally figured it out!

Not only does she throw away dirty diapers,
she has become pro at folding
towels, burp cloths
and her underware!

Saving the butterfly that decided
to take a swim in Madi's pool

It was a very HOT and HUMID month,
but we had a great end to our summer vacation!
